HERITAGE: Leicester's Finest Mahalia Strips Back "Grateful" For This Smooth Acoustic Session (2019)

It's hard to believe that it's been nearly three years since Mahalia released her debut album Love And Compromise, but here we are.

It was a momentous time for the Leicester-hailing singer-songwriter; she'd been building anticipation for a while with her steady stream of singles, so when the album finally dropped it was hardly surprising that publications and platforms like NYC's Paste Magazine wanted to host an acoustic set.

Next to anthems like "I Wish I Missed My Ex" and "Simmer" was this gem, "Grateful". Produced by Maths Time Joy, it was one of the more unassuming tracks on the album, but it was also Mahalia at her emotive best, stirring heartbreak with a flick of the pen.
