HERITAGE: Joe Black And Squeeks Combine Their Powers On This Certified UK Rap Anthem (2011)

March 12, 2019

North London veterans Joe Black and Squeeks came as part of a wave of rappers in the late 2000s who shook up the scene and laid the foundations for the current wave of chart-conquering British rappers.

Here the latter two are back in 2011, teaming up for the video to fan favourite "Usual Suspects" from Black's Realionare album. Containing features from future stars like Giggs, Youngs Teflon, Benny Banks and Coops, the whole album always worth revisiting and high on the list of projects you should recommend to UK rap newcomers.

But we wanted to highlight "Usual Suspects" for its high-rolling video and as an example of the solid gold partnership that is Joe Black and Squeeks. Frankly, Joe Black always works well with others (especially Benny Banks) but this tune was an anthem when it dropped, and one worth celebrating.
