Although he's since widened his repertoire to include rap and garage, Jaykae's grime roots are always worth celebrating (not least because our new print edition celebrates 20 years of the genre).

A full decade ago, Jaykae was already a star, fronting Birmingham grime crew Invasion Alert and dominating raves wherever he went. At this 2011 set, held to celebrate his birthday, Jaykae joins the late Depz and many more MCs from across the Midlands, the North, Wales and beyond, to pack into a sweatbox room to pass the mic and notch up some reloads. As early as this was in his career, he's barely able to make it through a single bar without a wheel-up.
