HERITAGE: Giggs Performs "Mr Kool" For Trevor Nelson At 1Xtra's Live Lounge (2013)

Giggs' discography is arguably the most impressive UK rap has ever seen. He's got underground and crossover hits for days and he's worked with some of the greatest talents of all time. One album of his that doesn't get as readily discussed as it perhaps should is his 2013 drop When Will It Stop.

The album was his second for XL Recordings and featured some pretty massive names. Mark Ronson produced a track, Ed Sheeran guested and produced another, and it also featured Anthony Hamilton and Styles P. Not only that, but it came a hair's breadth away from cracking the Top 20—it really was a huge accomplishment.

It also gave us some surprising new sides of Giggs. "Mr. Kool", for example, had a jazzy, soulful edge that brought out a much warmer side of him. That's presumably what appealed so much to Trevor Nelson, who invited him to the 1Xtra Live Lounge to perform the track with a full live band, just as nature intended.
