HERITAGE: Giggs Gets A Huge Crowd Reaction In This Early Performance At Club Ice In Ayia Napa (2008)

Back in the late 2000s, beset by constant interference by the police, it was all but impossible to see Giggs perform live. His era-defining and hugely influential Walk In Da Park tape was probably the biggest tape in rap, so the appetite to see him live was undeniably enormous.

In 2008, Giggs was brought over to Ayia Napa, the Mediterranean home-away-from-home for Black British music, even he can't have expected the reception he got at Club Ice. In front of an absolutely packed crowd, on a packed stage, sweat dripping from the ceiling, Giggs got the crowd he deserved.

"Talkin' Da Hardest", and the tape as a whole, dominated London and the rap scene back then, but you can see the look of shock when he can barely get a word out without everyone losing their minds. Everyone knew it was an anthem, but to see its effect in real time is something else entirely.
