HERITAGE: Estelle Gifts Us And GMTV With This Performance Of "Come Over" (2008)

Despite the success of her debut album The 18th Day..., it was still criminally underappreciated here in the UK. So it was hardly surprising that she ventured across the Atlantic where she ultimately found the success she deserved.

Second album Shine followed in 2008 and gave the world some of her biggest hits to date—including Kanye West collab "American Boy" of course. Nestled elsewhere in the tracklist (which also featured appearances from John Legend, who also executive produced the album, and CeeLo Green), was this gem "Come Over".

The track, which was the album's second single, leaned heavily into her Caribbean roots with a gentle swing and a stunning display of her silky vocals at their best. Although it didn't quite make the same impact as "American Boy", it did find fans both in the States and at home, and even got a Sean Paul-assisted remix the following year.
