HERITAGE: Early 2000s Pop Rap Crew Big Brovaz Perform Their Top 3 Hit "Nu Flow" At Top Of The Pops Awards (2002)

March 06, 2018

Turn of the millennium pop-rap-meets-garage group Big Brovaz originally consisted of six members—three rappers (J-Rock, Flawless and Randy) and three singers (Cherise Roberts, Dion Howell and Nadia Shepherd)—as well as two producers (Skillz aka JJC and Fingaz).

Their second biggest hit, "Nu Flow" hit the top 3 in the UK singles chart and spent four months in the top 75. Their biggest hit ended up being "Favourite Things" which sampled "My Favourite Things" from The Sound Of Music and hit number 2. They never did quite repeat that success of those two singles though, but they did win themselves a MOBO for Best Newcomer that same year.

We can't lie, this one did get a bit overplayed at the time but, let's be honest, this is a welcome trip down memory lane to the pop rap crew often labelled a 'softer' version of So Solid.

Fun fact: Cherise and Nadia found a second round of success together as dance-pop duo Booty Luv who were closely associated with Hed Kandi.
