HERITAGE: Don Strapzy Drops Quickfire Grime Bars In An Early Mayhem TV Freestyle (2006)

May 08, 2019

In just over a decade Lewisham's Don Strapzy has packed in a lot. Having earned his stripes with acclaimed freestyles for SBTV, Fire In The Booth and more, it wasn't long before he grew a strong foundation within UK rap. His achievements aren't restricted to music though; thanks to his countless lyrical references to football, he's become a favourite in the West Ham locker room and has even founded his own Sunday league team, the SE Dons (whose exploits you can follow on his YouTube channel).

These days he's more likely to hop on a rap instrumental, but it was grime that raised him. In the late 2000s Strapzy was carving out a place in the scene with attention-grabbing fury and boundless energy. Here he is way back in 2006, making one of his first ever appearances with an unforgettable freestyle that showcased his raw potential to the fullest.
