September 25, 2020

Having turned his life around after a stint in prison, Birmingham legend Remtrex recently dropped Bars From The Pen 2, a follow-up to the first volume in 2018. The new edition balanced rap with grime and featured guest spots from AJ Tracey, Lady Leshurr, Belly Squad's Ty, Yatez, Young Smokez, and his collab with Jaykae, "Novocaine".

Taking to Instagram to announce the project, he wrote, "Right now I ain't in the best of positions. I think about it a lot and get very down with my current situation!" He also thanked his supporters and vowed to stray strong.

To celebrate the project's release and send a bit of positivity his way, we took a look back at this iconic freestyle from 2011. Giving us a breakdown of his slang, Remtrex gives a quick-witted example of why he's such a revered local hero.
