Dank Of England CEO and viral video king, Black The Ripper has been chipping away at the rap scene for over a decade now, working tirelessly through the years before UK rap rose to its current dominance. Since the mid-2000s when he started, Black The Ripper has released an insane stack albums, mixtapes and EPs, but for today's Heritage we're taking it back to 2006 for two of his earliest underground hits, "My Minds Battle" and "Can't Control It".

The former was originally released on 2006's Holla Black (aka Samson Samson) before being re-released alongside the latter in 2009 on his 60-track collection, The Edmonton Dream. The video below blends the two video's together, juxtaposing their different approaches to storytelling and street life. "My Mind's Battle" opts for a darker approach, dissecting the dark realities, while "Can't Control It" takes a more contemplative tone, switching to a softer, more melodic instrumental as he lays it all out to a therapist.
