HERITAGE: Before His Powerful "My Block", Che Lingo Was Putting In The Work On Link Up TV's 'Behind Barz' (2012)

The last few years have seen Che Lingo aka The Wizard of Wandsworth rightly enjoy a great deal of success. His 2018 single "Same Energy" was selected for the latest season of Top Boy and his recent single "My Block" — which detailed the harrowing tale of his friend Julian Cole's brutal treatment at the hands of police — became a protest anthem, soundtracking the recent Black Lives Matter protests in London.

This, of course, is all the result of years of hard work from the South Londoner stretching back almost a decade. Here he is in 2012, giving us just a hint of what he's capable of. Right off the bat it's a tornado of rapid-paced lyrics and layered wordplay that's tough to keep up with. Whether grime or rap, Che makes light work off them both with his double-time flow.

While we wait for his new EP, The Worst Generation, hit play below and prepare to be stunned.
