HERITAGE: Bashy Unleashes His Powers During This Classic SBTV 'F64' (2010)

June 08, 2021

Back in 2011, when much of the grime scene had split between dance pop shots at the mainstream and underground rap, Bashy was the poster child for post-grime success. He'd already enjoyed massive acclaim with The Chupa Chups Mixtape (which famously spawned his signature hit "Black Boys") and although subsequent tapes hadn't brought quite the same level of success, his stock was still sky high in 2010.

Filmed the year before he released the Crunchie mixtape, this F64 freestyle was a timely and devastating reminder of his powers. Backed by the instrumental from Jeezy's "Go Crazy", Bashy sounds as fresh and energised as ever, casually banging out punchlines like it's nothing at all. Sadly, it would only be a couple of years before he made the permanent switch to acting and removed all his music from Spotify, but it was good while it lasted.
