Late last night it was announced that Coventry-raised rapper Pa Salieu had won BBC Sound of 2021, beating out Bree Runway, Greentea Peng, Berwyn and more. After a run of anthems including "Betty", "Frontline" and "My Family", as well as the downright flawless Send Them To Coventry, the prize couldn't have gone to a more deserving artist.

To celebrate, we've dug up this 2019 session for Mixtape Madness that arrived just a few days before "Year Of The Real" with M1llionz, Meekz and Teeway. Filmed in front of a hazy London skyline, Salieu unfurls his unique flow and cadence to paint the kinds of vivid pictures with a flair that has since become his trademark.
