Set six years after the events of Kidulthood, but released just two years apart, Adulthood doesn't always get quite the same credit as the original, but should still be regarded as a modern-day classic. As well as being a worthy follow-up, it also helped pave the way for Top Boy just as much as Kidulthood.

To run alongside the film, Bashy was tasked with creating the film's theme. Produced by Maniac, the track bridges the gap between the two films and touches on a few of the events of Adulthood.

Matching the intensity and tension of the track, and the grim stories Bashy details, the video was filmed largely in a low-lit basement with shots of the film's stars like Plan B, Adam Deacon and Femi Oyeniran spliced in. The biggest bonus of all, however, is a prominent cameo from a very, very young Little Simz.

Speaking in an interview with 1Xtra at the time, Bashy said: "Kidulthood to Adulthood relates to the movie because I talk about the characters and emphasise on choices. It's all in the title!

"The track alongside the movie depicts inner city living & some of the trials and tribulations we go through while growing up. It maps out a journey.

"In the chorus I say, 'I gotta break the cycle, cos if I go penn or end up dead then its my fault,' by this I mean everyone must take responsibility for themselves because at the end of the day it's YOU who ends up dead or in jail if you make bad decisions."
