HERITAGE: A Young General Levy Whips The Crowd Into A Frenzy At Birmingham Carnival (1988)

Though, for many, he's primarily known for his involvement in jungle, General Levy's reggae and dancehall credentials are almost as old as he is. A master of tongue-twisting bars with a relentless, energetic stage presence, it was easy to see from the outset why he was so highly sought after by every sound system at a carnival.

Here he is at the Birmingham Carnival in Handsworth in 1988. Clearly a red hot summer's day, judging by the sweaty crowd and various fans dotted around the stage, Levy somehow manages to draw out even more energy from the crowd with his dizzying dancehall flow.
