North West London's Harry Crane Blends Rap, Jazz And Soul On New Album 'Keep Your Head Up'
Soulful wordsmith Harry Crane has released his third album, Keep Your Head Up, a nine-track tape of introspective lyricism that explores the conundrums of life, name-checking well-known sports stars past and present along the way. Crane's unique ability to use football themed metaphors to explore the self is deftly executed and makes for a refreshing listen.
Feature-wise, the 21-year-old is joined by India Shan ("Admissions"), Emiko ("Need Somebody") and Nix Northwest ("Numb") who aid him in creating a mellow album, fusing subtle elements of jazz and soul into the various strains of rap and hip-hop that he flits between so effortlessly.
