Hamzaa's 'Phases' EP Is Her Brightest And Most Uplifting Release Yet

August 12, 2019

Having kicked the year off strong with stunning seven-track debut project, First Signs Of Me, 20-year-old soul prodigy Hamzaa is back with a brand new collection of tracks, Phases, including lead single "Sunday Morning".

It's been a busy year for Hamzaa, even without the two projects. May saw the release of the blissed-out, Lily Rose Thomas-directed video for "London", and then just a few days ago she shared a video of an acoustic live performance of Phases opener "Sunday Morning" — and that's to say nothing of the exhausting list of live dates she's performed this year.

Overall, Phases is one of the Hackney singer's most upbeat releases to date, particularly on the second half with some particularly grand production and live instruments on "Hard To Love" and "Someday". Thematically, Phases celebrates love for better or worse, making the most of the highs, brushing off the lows and always keeping it moving.
