Guvna B Joins Forces With J Hus Collaborator TSB To Fuse Drill And Garage On "Cushty"

March 23, 2020

East London's Guvna B has returned with his smooth new single "Cushty", tapping up J Hus collaborator TSB to put their spin on drill with some added UKG elements peppered in. Here, the rapper uses his neat flow and clever wordplay to speak on the damage wreaked by gang violence. A top-to-bottom showcase of his abilities, "Cushty" shows Guv can adapt his conscious flow to any beat you throw it him, all while maintaining the fun and excitement in his music.

"This song's about youth violence in inner-city communities," he says. "It's about not writing young people off and trusting that they have the ability to turn their lives around if they're given better opportunities and better environments to thrive in. It's a song about peace because the world's tough enough as it is without young people losing their lives prematurely."

It's going to be another groundbreaking year for Guvna B. While we wait to see what's next for the thoughtful rhymer, listen to "Cushty" below.
