Ghetts Delivers An Emotional Tribute To A Friend Who Lost Her Battle With Cancer On "Jess Song"

May 02, 2019

Ghetts has been busy since the release of Ghetto Gospel: The New Testament, performing in spotlight slots such as Later... With Jools Holland, going on tour, and dropping visuals from the project. Now the East London wordsmith has revealed a video for one of the more personal songs on the album, "Jess Song", a track dedicated to his friend Jess who died of cancer in 2017, depicting her battle with the disease while the video shows him playing the song for her and captures her candid reactions to it.

Speaking about the track, Ghetts tweeted: "A few years back a friend of mind was diagnosed with cancer during her last days. She said to me 'don't write no tune about me when I'm gone! I wanna hear it now.' And, by God's grace, she did. This will not go unheard. #fuckcancer"
