Frisco Calls On His BBK Teammates For "Red Card"

September 02, 2020

Next month (October 16), Frisco will release his long-awaited new album, The Familiar Stranger. Although it's only been two years since Back 2 Da Lab Vol. 5 dropped, a lot's happened in the music world since then and 2018 now feels like a lifetime ago. We got the first taste of the new album back in July with the D Double and Ghetts-assisted "Colours", and today we have the follow-up in "Red Card".

Reuniting with BBK teammates Skepta, Jme, Jammer and Shorty, the five MCs keep it strictly grime with Fris supplying the hook over a hard and heavy production from Trooh Hippi. The Chas Appeti visuals follow the all black-clad crew around the eerily quiet streets of central London as a firm reminder of who really runs the city.

In his recent interview with U.S YouTuber Fantano, Jme commented that when they recorded 2018's "Athlete", they also recorded at least eight other tracks as Boy Better Know. Although it's not clear whether or not "Red Card" was recorded that day, hopefully that means there's more to come. Could there even be an album?
