Fredo Declares 'Independence Day' With New Album f/ Headie One, Potter Payper And More

August 06, 2021

Recent appearances from Fredo, particular his head-turning verse on Dave's "In The Fire", have been marked for a noticeable renewed energy and vigour. The album's title is reportedly a nod both to the anniversary of Jamaica's independence and the end of the West Londoner's deal with Since '93.

Fredo first teased the album with the "Independence Day Freestyle" in May before we got official confirmation a month later with "Talk Of The Town". Anticipation was cranked up even further when he dropped "Wandsworth To Bullingdon" with Headie One in July, but besides that Fredo keeps the features count to a minimum. Potter Payper offers another A-list moment on the project, while underground figures Suspect of Active Gxng and North London's Clavish make up the remaining two spots.

On the production side, however, he's called on a much bigger team to help him sculpt the 14-strong collection. Stepping up to the boards are Hands Beatz, Jaiah, 169, Chucks, HONEYWOODSIX, SK The Plug, S Finesse, Young Kico, JuggyBeatz, Arkz Beats, Rylouis, Zero OTB, Bruskiii Ky, BenzMuzik, Rilbeats, Grape, KP Beatz, Zino Milly, and Essay Beats.

While we still hope to get his joint mixtape with Nines—which was put on pause when the Church Road rhymer was arrested back in June—it's unlikely anyone is ungrateful for this one. Hit play on the new "Flowers & The Snow" visuals below and then tune into the rest of the album at the bottom.
