Flohio Returns With A Flashbang Of Drill Futurism On "Whiplash"

September 20, 2021

Despite dropping Modeselektor collab "Social Distancing" and two COLORS performances this year, Flash" and "Stuck In The Mud", we're only just getting her first solo cut of the year, the more drill-influenced "Whiplash".

Produced by long-standing collaborators God Colony, "Whiplash" is flooded with jumpy drum patterns and futuristic electronics to capture her distinctive, commanding tone. Treading over the beat with ease, it's a resounding displaying of her lyrical finesse and playful flows.

Taking to Instagram to share her thoughts on the new release, Flohio wrote: "I can't lie this is gonna be nuts. I love you and I'm proud we are in this together. Friday I'll drop something I've been holding for a while, I've had so many ups and downs trying to get this single out so the fact that it is actually coming out is a gift in this month of September."

Flohio is moulding her own lane in the UK rap space, tapping into an extensive bag of influences and flipping them into a sound that is entirely her own. While we wait for the next drop, which hopefully isn't far away, get into "Whiplash" below.
