Pop Polymath FKA Twigs Reveals 'Caprisongs' Mixtape f/ Unknown T, Pa Salieu, Jorja Smith & More

Spanning across three albums and a small number of EPs, the artistry of FKA Twigs continues to stop us in our tracks, from the otherworldly visual concepts to her riveting stage performances. Now arriving two years after the visceral and introspective Magdalene, Twigs has delivered her new mixtape Caprisongs.

Inspired by her astrological placement of her sun in Capricorn, Caprisongs reflects on her search for self-confidence and the bursts of joy that appear along the way. Joining her on this journey is all-star cast of both UK and US acts, including Pa Salieu, Jorja Smith, Shygirl, The Weeknd, Daniel Caesar, Unknown T and Nigerian star Rema.

Co-produced by herself and El Guincho, the varied package of crushed, distorted beats and angelic tones take us on a global tour of influences. There are moments of Afro-pop on the Rema-assisted "Jealousy", for example, and then there's the trap-leaning "Darjeeling" with Unknown T and Jorja Smith, which refixes Olive's 1996 track "You're Not Alone" and glitters it with airy electronic elements. Elsewhere, we have the club-ready bashment cut "Papi Bones" and the lyrically poetic "Lightbeamers", but despite the genre-fluidity, FKA's indelible alternative edge remains a common denominator from start to finish.
