Fizzler Shines A Light On The Realities Of Street Life With UKG-Tinged Drill Cut "Minimum Wage"

February 05, 2020

South London drill prodigy Fizzler has been making serious waves the past few months. After the whirlwind success of "SkiddiBop" with Dublin's Offica, his star has been steadily rising. Now he's back with another potential hit, the garage-infused drill cut "Minimum Wage".

Unlike a lot of the self-aggrandising tales of street life you normally hear in drill, "Minimum Wage" takes a different approach in its portrayal of street life. Riding Bkay's crunchy, UKG-tinged drill production with ease, Fizzler sidesteps the usual subjects and instead looks at the poverty and desperation that can lead to gang life.

Still powerful and destined to be a fan favourite, this thoughtful take on drill is a welcome one.
