West London Rapper Finn Foxell Stirs Jazz, Garage And Soul Into 'Talk Is Cheap' EP

September 14, 2020

Back in July, West Londoner Finn Foxell released the nightmarish, synth-driven single "Pressure" and with it came the news that he'd soon be releasing his new EP Talk Is Cheap. After following it up with the project's second single "Make It Count", he's now made good on that promise.

The new eight-tracker lives up to his reputation for taking the road less travelled, stitching together several different strains of rap and fleshing them out with jazz pianos ("Coming In 3s"), soulful horns ("Steady"), Latin melodies ("Shout Me") and 2-step ("Herd"). After appearing on Safiyyah's "Mornings" in March, the young West Londoner returns the favour with a glowing appearance on "Shout Me". Keeping it strictly West, the last remaining feature comes from emerging talent Sophie DeMasi who graces "Herd" with a soaring vocal that's sure to put her name on the map.
