Etta Bond Articulates Our Growing Lockdown Frustrations With '2 Metres Apart' EP

June 25, 2020

It's been said before and it'll no doubt be said again, but coronavirus and the lockdown continues to find new and unexpected ways of taking its toll on just about every facet of our lives. There's no escaping that, so it's understandable that its influence finds its way into the art and entertainment we consume — which is exactly what has happened with Etta Bond's latest output.

The Cambridge-born soul singer has just released a brand new EP that explores that very subject, titled 2 Meters Apart, and with it the visuals for the even more timely "On A Beach (Part 1)". Both video and EP alike explore our collective cabin fever, the ways we choose to vent the emotional stress and what we all hope the post-lockdown world will look like.

I could be chilling on a beach with you, she says in the video, lying on what initially looks like sun-kissed sand, before the camera pans out to reveal that she's still very much locked up indoors.

While we all stave off the madness, take a look at the video below and listen to the whole EP at the bottom.
