Ego Ella May Is Trying To Find Her Place In The World On "How Long Til We We're Home"
South London singer-songwriter Ego Ella May has just revealed to the world her deeply affecting new single "How Long 'Til We're Home", a song all about trying to find your place in the world as a child of immigrant parents.
Her startling vocals send deep vibrations through the soul as she sings about how she's longed to be accepted in a confusing and chaotic world. Raised in London to Nigerian parents, the fearless singer states that she struggles to find a place that she can comfortably call home, explaining: "The song is about feeling lost about your place in the world, it's about longing for somewhere that FEELS like home… I wondered where is home anyway? Too African for Britain, too British for Africa."
It seems as if it will be a successful 2020 for the talented vocalist — the singer's debut album Honey For Wounds is out later this year and she's set to play London's Courtyard Theatre on May 20 — but for now listen to "How Long 'Til We're Home" below.
Updated on April 6: the official video has now been released.
