Ego Ella May Delivers Third And Final Instalment In 'Fieldnotes' EP Series

November 15, 2023

Ego Ella May has dropped the third and final chapter in her Fieldnotes EP series. The previous two instalments provided us with some of the best soul music coming from the UK (or anywhere else for that matter), and Fieldnotes Pt. III is as strong a finish to the trilogy as you'd hope. Across these four new tracks, Ego touches on letting go of the facade of control, self-love, and a range of other topics to help nourish and repair the soul.

With production from Dougie Stu, Lvther and Ego herself, the project's sound is calming and serene, the sonics every part as balming as Ego's voice and lyrics. Having dropped her debut album Honey For Wounds when the world needed it the most back in 2020, the Fieldnotes series has proven an effective reminder of Ego Ella May's talents and why she's such a crucial voice for the UK music space.

"This is the third and final part of the Fieldnotes project that I started in lockdown, and so much has changed. So many lessons have been learnt and put into this music, but the best part is that I've been lucky enough to work with my friends on this project; Dougie Stu, LVTHER, Sam Posener and Wu-Lu. I've co-produced three out of the four songs and I'm incredibly proud of that. It's about coming back to yourself time and time again, it's about love, it's about growth pains and it's about listening to your inner voice. God speaks in whispers."
