Coming all the way from North of the border, Edinburgh rapper Joell has dropped his new single, "Holla", featuring Glasgow native Chlobocop. This marks his first release of the year and if you had to define Joell in one track, this is certainly the one you'd pick. The infectious melodies, snazzy hooks, and jumpy trap beats perfectly sum up the rhymer's unique sound. His vivid lyrics paint a picture of society, tuning himself into the collective conscious of the world around him. The retro, Super 8-directed visuals use abstract imagery and shots stitched together like fragments of a memory, creating a surreal and engrossing effect. However, what really stands out in the whole thing is Joell's authenticity; his sound is all his own and he's taking it all in his stride.
