DTG Offers Solidarity With Nigerians In The Fight Against SARS On "My People"

November 04, 2020

The brutality of notorious Nigerian police unit SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) has been an important topic in recent weeks, and Nigerian-born, Croydon-based DTG continues to raise awareness with "My People". The new cut offers support for meaningful political change in Nigeria, calling for better treatment of its citizens and an end to corruption. With its catchy Afroswing sound, "My People" is sure to gain permanent residence in the listener's mind and cement its important message in our collective consciousness.

The visuals from Twam are powerful, capturing the frustration and pain caused by SARS at protests in Nigeria and London. DTG also wonderfully conveys the anguish felt outside of Nigeria, particularly among second generation Nigerians living within the diaspora. There's a strong sense of global hurt right now, and DTG puts his platform to good use, continuing the fight for a better future for Nigerians.
