Headie One And Drake Unite In The Name Of Drill On "Only You Freestyle"

Headie One has teamed up with Drake for a monster collaboration on their "Only You" freestyle. Although this UK-Canada link-up is the first time the two have worked together, Drake has gone on record as having been a big fan of North Londoner for a while. Apparently, the feeling was mutual and after Drake reached out on Instagram, Headie gladly accepted.

Production here comes from M1OnTheBeat who gives the pair an eerie backdrop laden with drilly 808s and lurching bass for them to deliver their barrage of crud talk and bravado. Drake kicks off with a mesmerising flow, name-checking Maya Jama and even dropping in some bars in Arabic, before making way for Headie One to add some UK swag. Slicing cleanly through the instrumental, the Tottenham don finishes it off with his solid gold, melody-tinged flow.

"Only You" is a big moment in music and shows the mutual respect between the two artists, despite being on completely different sides of the Atlantic. Of course, this isn't the first time Drake's taken on a drill instrumental — last year's "War" and April's "Demons" both saw Aubrey explore the sound — but this is the first time he's stood shoulder-to-shoulder with someone from the UK scene.

Speaking on how much he admires Headie One as a rapper, Drake said: "I had to go hard, especially on a track with one of the best drill artists in the world... Scratch that — the best drill artist in the world."
