Deyah Fights To Rise Above Her Struggles On Steely "Suffa"

June 20, 2022

Cardiff rhymer Deyah promptly arrives with another lyrically pressing track to feed our minds titled "Suffa".

Right from the get-go, we're greeted with Deyah chanting the affirmation "we no go suffer o" over a swelling section of West African-inspired drums and oscillating sirens, courtesy of producer Otis Saint Carter.

The beat is a slight turn away from Deyah's usual introspective style, creating an urgent backdrop that allows her to speak on some of the highly-relatable struggles she's going through. As she settles into her rap verse, she touches on her desires to transcend the destructive patterns of city life, flexing her penmanship in the process.

Hit play on the Zoë-directed visuals to see Deyah perform her bars while being doused in a sticky, wax-like liquid.
