Dexter Craves "Something Real" On Garage-Infused New Joint
Following the release of her hotly-anticipated I Do Love A Good Sandwich EP, released last year, South London's dexter returns with "Something Real".
Kurisu shines on the production for this one, creating a funky garage rhythm section and glazed with ambient synth layers. Complementing the mellow nature of the track, dexter unravels with a range of melodies to carry her bittersweet lyrics. As usual, her songwriting is beautifully honest as she lovingly moves on from undeserving friendships to connect with herself.
Since her debut EP, this year she's gifted us with tracks like "Pressure", "Paper Cup" and "Different", and her authenticity and relatable songwriting continues to shine. Take in "Something Real" below.
