In 2013, 18-year-old Joshua Ribera, better known as Depzman, was tragically stabbed to death, but through AI technology he drops off an emotional posthumous message in this new video titled "Life Cut Short".

The video opens with some old footage from Depz's early days as an MC, reminding us of his prodigious natural talents. He soon appears with stories of his come up in the scene, reflecting on family, childhood, and his tragic passing over the PhazeFX production.

His mother, Alison Cope, and the Joshua Ribera Foundation connected with SBTV founder Jamal Edwards before his passing to bring this project to life. The video description states: "This is a project that was very close to Jamal's heart, we [SBTV] met Alison back in 2020 and Jamal immediately said we have to do this because legacy is important. Now we must continue the legacy of both Depzman and Jamal Edwards."

A separate statement reads: "In 2013, Depzman was on the cusp of greatness. From his SBTV freestyle to his work with Birmingham group Invasion and features across the grime world, he was heading for big things. Then he was killed by a knife.

Alison Cope became an anti-knife campaigner following Depz's passing and worked with different artists to honour and remember her son in this video which you can view below.
