Producer pair DAMEDAME* have reconnected with Jorja Smith for their new single, "Freedom".

The Birmingham-based duo—who also list Wizkid and Tems among their past collaborators—kick things off with a stunning vocal burst from one half of the duo, Barbara (whose voice they also used on Wizkid's "Break Me Down"). The rest of the track is built on a galloping beat and Smith's show-stopping voice.

This is DAMEDAME*'s third single in their own right, following "Promise" and 2023's "A Stranger". It also builds on a five-year collaborative relationship between Smith and the production duo that was solidified when they worked together on Smith's 2023 LP Falling Or Flying, co-writing and producing 11 out of 14 of the tracks.
