For the past couple of years, grime and dubstep-rooted producer Commodo has been stretching his wings out into sounds that owe more to cinema soundtracks than dancefloors. 2020's Stakeout was a watershed release in that respect and now we're approaching the next stage in his plans as he announces a new record label, Mysterious Trax.

The label officially launches with its inaugural release, Mysterious Trax 001, on October 7. To mark the announcement, he's just released an ominous visual for its lead track. Directed by Lake Hills, it's as eerie as the track itself, stitching together seemingly disconnected images of a ghostly cityscape.

The video's the perfect visual representation of what "cclarity", and much of his new music for that matter, is really about. Drawn out atmospherics, sparse arrangements and unsettling left turns, it's the sound of abandoned streets and vacant flats. Put more succinctly in his words, this is "stakeout music".

The new label, he explains, "will be my main focus ... and will be a place for me to continue developing as an artist away from any compulsion to make my music DJ-friendly."
