Having laid the groundwork with singles like "Hella Rare", "Show Me Love" and "Suit That", the scene was set for Chy Cartier's newest drop, "Bossed Up". It caught some early love when it hit the airwaves, but when clips of its hypnotising, monochrome video started circulating online, the timeline was beside itself.

Between the punchy production from GW & RP and the North London rhymer's almost percussive bars, it's hardly surprising it won the approval of the likes of Stormzy, Digga D, Potter Payper, Youngs Teflon, and Wretch 32. Equally, the video from director Florian Joahn, with its dramatic city shots and inventive edits, was just as captivating and easily made good on the promise of that viral hype.

Sharing her thoughts on the track, Chy explains: "'Bossed Up' is about having solid ambition and despite whatever challenges you may encounter, you should never give up on your dreams. You can achieve anything you put your mind to—so go and get it! The hook looks back to my early years, the quick meals I used to eat before the uptown meals. The track is a self-celebration and affirmation for all my efforts to get to where I want to be."
