Chip Fires Back At Stormzy With "10 Commandments"

January 18, 2021

You'll no doubt remember that last year a beef erupted between Chip and Stormzy that culminated in Chip double-dropping "Flowers" and "Killer MC". Besides that and a few subliminals, much of the conflict was kept to social media, but quickly fizzled out, much to the disappointment of us all.

Well, that's all changed now because it looks like things are returning to boiling point. On Friday, Ghetts dropped "Skengman", which featured a verse from Stormzy that seemed to fire a few veiled shots at Chip. Judging by a recent tweet from Chip (below), it was the line Look, I love a real-life encounter / It's funny on the phone you're a shouter that he took exception too.

As has become his M.O, Chip used the weekend to record and film his response. Produced by M1OnTheBeat, "10 Commandments" makes no bones about targeting Stormzy, rattling off criticisms of everything from his public persona to his faith, and yes, that infamous video filmed outside Chip's flat.

There's a lot to unpack here and no doubt the Genius annotators will be working overdrive as they source the minutiae of this war from YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and even Clubhouse, but for now, take in "10 Commandments" below. Whatever happens now, all eyes are on Stormzy.
