Yorkshire Rapper Chiedu Oraka Refuses To Take His "Foot Off The Gas"

April 07, 2021

Having put the extra time afforded by lockdown to good use, Hull rapper Chiedu Oraka, aka The Black Yorkshireman, is back to continue his non-stop release run with the fittingly titled "Foot Off The Gas".

Produced by Deezkid and Blem Productions, "Foot Off The Gas" is a stomping rap tune with just a hint of grime creeping in at the edges. Driven by a tightly-wound energy, there's an undeniable tension simmering away that's absolutely guaranteed to go off in a live setting.

Away from music, you might also recognise him from the documentary series, Black Kings On Hull, a four-part exploration of the Black experience outside of the M25, specifically in Yorkshire. Executed with an almost poetic approach, it was a moving and inspiring snapshot of a story we don't hear enough of.

Tune in below and keep an eye out for the visuals, which we're told are just around the corner.

Updated on April 12: the official video, directed by Mundoba, has now landed.
