Che Lingo Explores His Experiences Growing Up In South London With Debut Album 'The Worst Generation'

October 26, 2020

Che Lingo has just dropped his latest project, The Worst Generation, a plethora of sounds and thoughts that explore his experiences growing up in South London. Fresh from signing to Idris Elba's 7Wallace record label, Che Lingo has been working tirelessly in 2020, releasing "My Block", "Black Ones" featuring Ghetts and "Dark Days" with Kojey Radical — not to mention a handful of non-album singles and collabs.

The Worst Generation is a mature and astute project, a mix of potent lyrics and high calibre melodies, and testament to Che Lingo's journey thus far that dives faces tough subjects head-on. We begin with "South", a proud salute to his South London roots before moving to the particularly powerful "My Block", which addresses social issues within the Black community and the ever-present negligence of authorities. Elsewhere, amongst hard-hitting lyrics are more devotional tracks, including "Make Me Free" and "Perfect Wounds", featuring the soft vocal contributions of Rachel Chinouriri and Samm Henshaw respectively.

Check out the celebratory visuals for "South" below, and stream The Worst Generation at the bottom.
