Central Cee Indulges In Some "Retail Therapy" Ahead Of Upcoming '23' Mixtape

January 10, 2022

After a year that saw him release hits like "Obsessed With You" (which sampled bedroom pop icon PinkPantheress), make his debut Daily Duppy appearance, scoop his first MOBO Award, and earn a salute on the BBC Sound Of list, Central Cee arrives renewed and refreshed for the year ahead with brand new track "Retail Therapy".

Produced by Nastylgia and Young Chencs, the instrumental centres on woozy effects, melodic textures and choppy drill production. To that they've added snippets of the wailing horns of Hank Crawford's "Wildflower", taken from Kanye West's "Drive Slow", which Central Cee layers with bars about pushing his problems to the side for some much needed retail therapy.

Alongside that comes confirmation that a new mixtape is on the way. 23 is expected to land February 25 and "Retail Therapy" is hopefully an indicator of the kind of beat selection and attention to detail we can expect.

Hit play below to see Central Cee and his crew as they swarm Bond Street and Shepherd's Bush for a shopping spree, selecting expensive garms and stylish kicks along the way.
