Ceebo & Blanco Weigh Up The Price Of Success On "Gets Like Dat"
Ahead of his upcoming mixtape, Bloccstar, Ceebo has shared his new single, "Gets Like Dat" with Blanco.
The new track is the third track to be taken from the tape, following "Parable Of A Skinnyman" and "Absolut", which will explore themes of fame, ambition and the moral toll that fame takes.
On "Gets Like Dat", we get another chapter in that story as the two artists lament the pressures of success and the push-pull of artistic integrity versus success.
Speaking on working with Blanco, who he cites as an early inspiration, Ceebo shares: "Having grown up on Blanco's music, it's really gratifying to get on a song with him and for us to talk about experiences that are similar, given that we're both lyricists. It's really exciting and humbling."
Blanco adds: "I feel like I haven't really spoken about the struggles that I've faced in my career as an artist, namely making the songs I actually wanted to make, but couldn't. A song like this gets to show the people what I actually went through, so my verse means a lot to me, the whole song means a lot."
