Cashh Sets The Vibes With Mark Morrison-Sampling "Return Of The Man"

July 05, 2021

Since his return to the UK, Peckham-raised rapper Cashh has had his mind set on making up for lost time, putting his all into a slew of vibe-filled bangers. From the M1llionz-assisted "Pounds And Dollarz" to the drill-inspired "Double Tap/Mexican Wave", he today follows up with the dancehall-ridden "Return Of The Man".

In his opening ad lib, listeners will instantly recognise the sample from Mark Morrison's iconic "Return Of The Mack", which Cashh infuses with his dancehall rhythms and tropical melodies. Over the production works of Deanyboy he splurges his slick, celebratory rhymes, a theme that's mirrored in the accompanying visuals. Directed by Cashh himself, the video sees him let loose at a party surrounded by a pool of dancers with shots of him cruising through the cityscape making brief appearances on the screen.

Sharing his thoughts on the release, Cashh says: "Return Of The Man" for me is the epitome of blind faith. I say this because I wrote and recorded the song while I was still in Jamaica, not knowing when I would actually be returning to the UK. It's almost as if I wrote my return into existence with the guidance of the most high."

The track is pulled from his forthcoming project, Return Of The Immigrant Pt. 1, which is due to drop in August.
