BenjiFlow made his long-awaited return to the game last week by dropping the easy listening record "Abena". The Edmonton representative is something of a musical powerhouse, as talented on vocals as he is on the boards, and he proves yet again that he can do it all with this new drop.

Co-produced with Kyu Steed and Kz (and co-written with Nippa), "Abena" has a warm, almost tropical feel that will add some sunshine to these gloomy autumn days. Serenading his love interest with typical charm and charisma, his lyrics are as smooth as the layered harmonies embedded in the song's production.

Given how active he was last year, this year has been pretty quiet by Benji's standards. Last year, he linked up with Ragz Originale and Oscar Worldpeace for collaborative tape ICONICY as well as dropping the solo effort The Thrill, but "Abena" is his first in 2023. We suspect, or at least hope, that's because he's spent most of the year in the lab working on the next steps.
