BackRoad Gee Gets Jazzy On Surprising "Take Time"

December 21, 2020

Up until now, BackRoad Gee had us glued to riotous, moshpit anthems packed with barely contained energy, but for his latest offering, "Take Time", he's pulled the rug from under us with a slower flow and a conspicuous jazz influence.

The sax-driven instrumental comes from Joffstar, creating a smooth yet intoxicating backdrop for BRG's salute to Black women. Credit should also go to director Capone (a name you might recognise from Headie One's "Princess Cuts" and Young T & Bugsey's "Don't Rush") who gives the track a stylish treatment that celebrates Blackness and femininity with charm and grace.
