Ama is back with her second album, AMA.

The new album boasts features from Brent Faiyaz and Bryson Teller, but this is very much the Ama show. It's also her first since streamlining from Ama Lou last year.

The name change wasn't just a marketing strategy, it seems to have been born from a genuine shift in the way she sees and presents herself. This is a more self-assured Ama, meditating on womanhood, identity, and self-discovery, all against the backdrop of a more stripped-back R&B sound.

Speaking on her transformation and how that shaped the album, Ama shares: "There's a lot of confidence behind this album. It's me finally being okay with wanting to be seen and admitting to my desires as a woman. Before, I was hiding behind cryptic lyrics and intensity to shield myself from perception, which is ironic, isn't it?"
