Alfa Mist Heads Down The Path To New Album 'Bring Backs' With Nostalgic Jam "Run Outs"

January 20, 2021

Jazz is enjoying somewhat of a renaissance in the British scene, with notable artists like Sons Of Kemet, Nubya Garcia and Ego Ella May adding their unique zest to the well-renowned genre. Another name to add to that list is Alfa Mist, who's been steering jazz in a direction that's both soulful and eclectic.

The multi-faceted artist has announced that new album Bring Backs will release on April 23, containing nine songs that were written and orchestrated in London. As part of the album roll out, Alfa Mist has dropped "Run Outs", a nostalgic piece infused with spine-tingling piano and saxophone chords and enriched with just a hint of electronics.

Speaking on the track, Alfa Mist explained: "'Run Outs' is a street game I remember playing when I was younger. I used to think of making beats and playing with a band as separate worlds until I realised I was always trying to achieve the same thing. Making the music I want to make. With the song 'Run Outs' I'm bringing together the vibe of my earliest beats with where I'm at today."
