A New Documentary About The History Of Rave Music In Manchester Is In The Works

October 09, 2017

A new documentary focusing on Manchester's rave history is in the works.

Manchester Keep On Dancing, directed by Madrid filmmaker Javi Senz, will track the city's dance music history from the early days of acid house in the late '80s through to the present day. Among the contributors and interviewees for the doc are Seth Troxler, Carl Craig, Laurent Garnier, Greg Wilson, Andrew Weatherall Heidi and Mike Pickering. The film will also feature a tonne of previously unseen footage from the Hacienda, some of which was filmed by famed Hacienda owner Tony Wilson himself.

Krysko, Warehouse Project's resident and an advisor for the film, said: "I have always been fascinated with the history of the culture I love so much, and especially how the span of different generations link into each other to keep moving it forward, and this film manages to join a lot of dots in a very special way."

Manchester Keeps On Dancing will premiere on November 4 at Rio Cinema in Dalston, London. There will also be a Q&A with a selection of film contributors. Head here for tickets and more info.
