Lockt's 1Forty Returns With A Bass-Focused EP Featuring Trilla, K Dot, Bomma B, Ali McK & IYZ, Deadbeat, NLMT And More

Leeds-based DJ Lockt has been running an array of themed EP collections on his 1Forty label for a few years now, straddling grime, bassline, dubstep, UK funky and more. We've been hooked on them for a while now, not just for the surefire bangers guaranteed to be inside, but also because they've made a point of putting seasoned vets alongside newer up-and-comers.

The label's latest outing is 1FBSS005, a bassline-focused four-tracker that reveres the past while casting its gaze far into the future. Representing the heritage side, they've got J69 to supply a beat for Sheffield's K Dot and Birmingham's Trilla and Bomma B, a triple threat of MCs whose names are synonymous with bassline's peak in the late 2000s.

The rest of the EP continues that Northern theme with two more Steel City dons: Deadbeat UK and Forca whose "That Time Again" gives the EP possibly it's toughest, most intense moment. Then we've got Bradford producer NLMT and Manchester's FALLU who combine for "Time", a 4x4 crusher steeped in all the classic hallmarks. Rounding out the EP are Nottingham duo Ali McK & IYZ who've brought in Repulsive Records boss Kage for the house-leaning "Straight Ravin'".

Go nuts with it below.
