Between SoundCloud, YouTube, Mixcloud and everything else, it can feel like we’re being overwhelmed by an impenetrable, almost infinite stream of music, often of varying quality. You need a soundtrack to start your weekend right, but you don’t have the requisite lifetime to trawl through the week’s new DJ mixes. To help you out, we’ve done the busy work for you. We’ll be running this series every single Friday of every single week to bring you the very finest house music, grime, techno, bashment, R&B, trap, D&B, Amapiano, and no doubt a bunch of stuff that doesn’t have a name yet.

The Manchester-hailing DJ/producer was in Belgium this past month for Paradise City in the gardens of Kasteel Ribaucourt in Perk. From his booth embedded in an ocean of ravers, he drops a bunch of gems from names like Soul Mass Transit System, Smokey Bubblin’ B, Notion, plus a load of his own hits, including “Lola” and “Slow Burner”, and collabs with Silva Bumpa and Sammy Virji.

It’s not quite the first time D&B has been on the Main Stage at Tomorrowland, but it’s not far off. This set from Weekend 1 at the Belgian mega festival was a massive one. A big treat for fans old and new, especially when they started digging into More Than A Lot, peaking with a one-two punch of “Saxon” into “Eastern Jam”. Will and Saul have completely taken over the first half of 2026 and with the new album just around the corner, the rest of the year is already sewn up too.

Two West Coast dubstep legends were over here this summer. Introspekt has been coming the UK for some time now, with releases on Tempa and Keysound to show for it, and this morning (July 31) it was announced that Carré is to make her Tempa debut with the Citrine EP (due September). Ahead of that, they teamed up with Sharnie, D1, Cimm and Youngsta for a day of 140 magic as part of the Tempa takeover.

This year’s GemFest lineup was absolutely stuffed with greatness, including sets from Flava D, Hamdi, Oppidan and more to enjoy, but it was this one from Champion that stole it for us. Garage, bassline and 2-step were definitely the anchor to this set, but he finds a lot of space around that to play in. Everything from Major Lazer to Princess Superstar get a look in—plus there’s an absolutely devilish transition from “Booo!” into “Red Alert”. But no matter the left turn, he always brings it back to the steppers and bubblers.

This year, music livestreaming platform alt:lab celebrated its first birthday with a massive b5b. Featuring Charisma, Amber Rose, Akira, Steady, and founder GUNS, the set was live streamed on YouTube and Twitch, but you can still watch it back. Grime, dubstep, Baile funk, club music, classic rave and about a hundred other sounds, there’s a lot going on—and for a three-hour set, it zips along at a hell of a pace.

Dance music doesn’t get much more luxurious than this. A gently moving combo of bossa nova, jazz, reggae, Afro fusion, Latin pop, house music and tonnes more, this is aprtment life at its absolute best. It’s a busy time for Juls, who’s playing regular spots at the Jazz Cafe, and he just dropped a heady collab with Projexx that dances between Jamaica and Ghana, and as luck would have it, an unreleased collab with Projexx closes out this very mix.

This past month, NTS regular Elheist was on deck with designer, coreographer and multi-talent Saul Nash. The show comes ahead of a new exhibition at the Design Muesum in London, The Nue Black Aesthetic, celebrating pioneering contemporary Black designers, including Nash, who are shaping the modern and future aesthetic. Hopping back and forth across the diaspora, expect footwork, R&B, D&B, gqom, Afro-house, kuduro and so much more crammed with ruthless efficienty into just one hour.

Recorded as part of the crossover between Silkie’s Bedroom Rat Records and the 2 Step Mafia Brasil family, this all-star showing down on New Cross Road features sets from Riz La Teef, Teiu, Caskobi, and Tessa B2B Limi. As with a lot of cultural exchanges with Brazil, the pay off is great and their take on garage and 2-step is packed with warmth and funk, but credit for this one has to go to the BRR boss, Mr. Solomon Rose himself for a mix that’s soulful and bubbly, but still packs plenty of low-end punch.

An absolute titan of dance music, not just in the US, Baltimore-born KARIZMA, aka Kaytronik, has been DJing since he was just 13 years old and since then he’s built a formidable reputation. Spinning everything from house and techno and deep techno to hip-hop, jazz, broken beat and more, he’s a DJ in the truest classical sense of the term. Ultra jazzy with the deepest of grooves, this is pure, uncut heatwave music.

100 minutes of hardcore and D&B depth charges from the master, Doc Scott. A pioneer of jungle and the heavier side of rave, the last decade plus have been some of his best. Revitalised and more creative than ever, his modern day sets are peerless. This one with Medic MC leans more on newer D&B with plenty of funk, grooves and melody amongst the heaviness.
